On Saturday, 20th June 2026, the 59th Assembly of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia (RGLS) was held in Belgrade. The Assembly gathered a large number of Brethren and numerous delegations of friendly Grand Lodges from abroad.
The Assembly was held within the International Masonic Peace Congress (17–21 June 2026). The Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia once again convened the Masonic Peace Congress, following the example of the one held in 1926, when the Grand Lodge of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes “Yugoslavia” gathered the Masonic elite of Europe in Belgrade, and the encounter of a French and a German Brother was remembered as the “Belgrade Fraternal Hug” (Belgrader Bruderkuss).
This year’s Congress was not merely the marking of a centenary. At a time when the world is once again shaken by conflicts and divisions, the message of peace proclaimed a century ago takes on a new and necessary strength, and Freemasons remain devoted to the ideals of fraternity, understanding and peace among peoples.
The ritual part of the Assembly was led by the Most Worshipful Grand Master, Brother Lukas Rasulić. A retrospective of the past Masonic year was presented, and representatives of foreign delegations addressed those present. The ceremonial signing of the Masonic Peace Declaration 2026 was a particularly solemn moment.
In the working part, the reports of the competent bodies of the RGLS on their work in the past year were presented and adopted, together with the guidelines for the period ahead.
Main events of the Peace Congress, by day:
- 17 June — arrival of delegations; a charitable activity at the “Veljko Ramadanović” School for Visually Impaired Pupils and a welcome reception hosted by the Grand Master;
- 18 June — the international conference with addresses by numerous Grand Lodges and Supreme Councils, and the Centenary Academy;
- 19 June — the signing of the Masonic Peace Declaration 2026, the unveiling of a monument dedicated to the Masonic Peace Conference, and a ceremony in front of the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mount Avala;
- 20 June — the 59th Assembly of the RGLS and a gala dinner.
