The Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia held its 55th Assembly on Saturday, 17 June 2023, in Belgrade — in a year of a great Masonic jubilee, three centuries since the publication of Anderson’s Constitutions.
On the eve of the Assembly, on 16 June 2023, an international symposium was held under the title “Bringing Light Back to Central and Eastern Europe, and Three Decades of the Consolidation of Regular Freemasonry in Serbia.” Across three panels it addressed Freemasonry at the beginning of the 21st century and the significance of bringing light back to Eastern Europe, three decades of the consolidation of regular Freemasonry in Serbia, and its revival across Central and Eastern Europe. Alongside Brethren of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia, the panels welcomed guests from foreign Grand Lodges and members of the academic community.
The ceremonial part of the Assembly was rich in content:
- the presentation of awards and recognitions for the preceding period;
- a lecture by the Head of the Masonic Academy of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia devoted to three centuries of Anderson’s Constitutions;
- addresses by representatives of the foreign delegations;
- the screening of a film on the activities of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia in the preceding period;
- a presentation by the Most Worshipful Grand Master.
Joining the memory of the very foundations of modern Freemasonry with a gaze fixed on the future, the 55th Assembly affirmed the standing and maturity of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia within the family of the recognized Grand Lodges of the world.
