At the museum and library of the Central Temple of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) in London, an exhibition was organized on Garibaldi’s visit to London in 1864. On behalf of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia and the Lodge “Svetlost Balkana – Garibaldi”, the exhibition was visited on 21 July 2014 by our Brother Bata Žugić.
The exhibition on Garibaldi was organized in honour of, and to commemorate, his visit to England and London 150 years ago, when he was received with all the highest honours of the aristocratic circles of the time, including the English and London Masonic Brethren.
Through many original documents and artefacts, the exhibition presents various aspects of the influence of Garibaldi and his time on the middle classes of the Victorian society of the England of that day.
