A delegation of the Lodge “Svetlost Balkana-Garibaldi” took part in the 6th World Conference of Garibaldi Lodges in Athens (25–27 September 2015). The conference was organized by the Athens Lodge Garibaldi No. 130, while the patron of the conference and host of a large number of delegations and guests was the Grand Lodge of Greece. The conference was attended by delegations of Garibaldi Lodges from France, Serbia, Italy and Cyprus, as well as representatives of Garibaldi Lodges from the USA, Brazil and Australia.
The traditional annual gathering of the Garibaldians in Athens began with the ceremonial bringing in of the flags and the playing of the anthems of all the delegations present. A greeting address was then delivered by the Grand Master of Greece, Bro. George Vassilogeorgis. On behalf of the delegation and the Brethren of the Lodge “Svetlost Balkana-Garibaldi”, those present were greeted by the Master of the Lodge, and Bro. Z.T. conveyed the greetings of the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the RGLS, Bro. Ranko Vujačić.
During the conference in Athens, the delegation of the National Grand Lodge of France (GLNF) conferred upon our Bro. Velimir-Bata Žugić the medal of the Grand Provincial Lodge Alpes Méditerranée (GLPAM), as a token of goodwill and cooperation between the Lodges and for his “contribution and activities in the work of the International Chain of Garibaldi Lodges”.
During the conference in Athens it was emphasized several times that liberty, justice and peace among people are precisely the ideas and aims of understanding and of a common way of life for people in the world.
