As part of the marking of 100 years since the founding of the Grand Lodge of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes “Yugoslavia”, on 21 and 22 June 2019 a central Ceremonial Academy was held in Belgrade, organized by the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia, together with the 50th jubilee Assembly of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia.
On this occasion, the largest number of foreign guests to date arrived in Belgrade, from over 40 countries and 5 continents, with the presence of the highest officials and representatives of Grand Lodges from around the world, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who is also the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England.
This was the largest Masonic gathering in the history of this region. It began with the assembling of all the delegations of the world’s Grand Lodges at Belgrade’s “Crowne Plaza” hotel on Friday, 21 June 2019, at a reception hosted by the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the RGLS, Bro. Lukas Rasulić.
On the same day, from 8 p.m., a ceremonial academy marking the centenary was held at the National Theatre in Belgrade, at which, in addition to the Grand Masters of Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Germany, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Ivica Dačić, also spoke.
The following day, Saturday, 22 June 2019, a sightseeing tour of Belgrade was organized in the morning for all the foreign delegations, followed by a lecture by the renowned German expert Mr Karl-Heinz Land on the prospects and future of humanity, entitled “Earth 5.0”.
This was followed by the 50th jubilee Assembly of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia, attended by almost 600 delegates and guests, with the most distinguished guest being HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, who also delivered an address for the occasion.
The Most Worshipful Grand Master of the RGLS, Bro. Lukas Rasulić, presented the Duke of Kent with a specially prepared gift as a memento of this exceptional event.
The gathering concluded with a ceremonial dinner attended by almost 700 guests.
