An international gathering of Lodges that are twinned in the countries of the Balkan region was held from 4 to 6 September 2015 in Plovdiv, under the name “The Gate of Light”, under the patronage of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria. The gathering was attended by delegations from Serbia, Romania, Greece, Turkey and Macedonia. On that occasion, the twinning of our Lodge “Avala” with the Bulgarian Lodge “Dagata na Plovdiv” was carried out. This ceremonial act was attended, in addition to the Brethren of the RGLS, by other delegations, as well as the Most Worshipful Grand Master and the Grand Officers of the UGLB. The twinning was accompanied by much warmth, fraternal love and joy. Brethren D.T., Z.T. and N.T. received honorary membership in the Lodge “Dagata na Plovdiv”.
At the ceremonial working of the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria, the RGLS delegation conveyed the greetings of the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the RGLS, Bro. Ranko Vujačić, and of the Brethren of all the Lodges of the RGLS, with the message that the cooperation and mutual friendship of our Lodges to date should be extended with new successes in the future work and cooperation of the UGLB and the RGLS.
At the same working, our Brother Velimir-Bata Žugić, after reading his invited paper, received a charter of honorary membership in the Lodge “Perla Slivena”. The explanation of the honorary membership states that it is conferred upon Bata Žugić for his exceptional contribution to the mutual cooperation of the fraternal Lodges, as well as for the advancement and further development of the fraternal and friendly relations between the UGLB and the RGLS.
