A delegation of the Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia (RGLS), led by the Most Worshipful Grand Master, Brother Lukas Rasulić, visited Paris from 6 to 8 December 2019, attending the Annual Assembly of the “National Grand Lodge of France” (GLNF).
In addition to numerous meetings between the heads of delegations, in the course of which very useful and fruitful discussions were held, the most significant event for regular Freemasonry in Serbia was the unanimous decision of the members of the Assembly of the “National Grand Lodge of France” to withdraw recognition from the “Grand Lodge of Albania” and to sever all contacts with that Grand Lodge, in the same manner as the “United Grand Lodge of England” (UGLE) had previously done.
The reason for withdrawing recognition from the GL of Albania was its continued disregard for the agreement, that is, the declaration signed on 6 June 2015 in Belgrade at the then European Conference of Grand Masters, which explicitly states that exclusive jurisdiction over the territory of Kosovo and Metohija belongs to the “Regular Grand Lodge of Serbia”.
By this move, the Brethren of the GLNF once again demonstrated their commitment to respecting the regular decisions of the highest Masonic bodies and their respect for the Brethren of the RGLS.
